Week 3.1 Inside and Outside

Today was off again, on again rain.  We decided to go for a walk in Westport House park this morning before work since the sky looked so beautiful and blue.  Half way out it started to rain quite heavily so we shortened our walk somewhat.  One takes the blue skies (or the non raining skies) when one can, I suppose.  After I finished up a rather unpleasant work task this afternoon, we went into town to run a few errands and then stopped by a pub we like to watch some of the Cheltenham races.  You'll notice that everyone is captivated by the races on the TV.  There was even a baby who seemed to know she should keep quiet until the race was over.  Racing is huge here and I'm becoming quite interested in it, if only for watching the horses.  The other day I saw a riderless horse finish almost the entire course on his own and maintained a lead for much of it-- he even went over the jumps.  Today I saw adorable little Medinas win and the jockey say of him "He's like a little pony, but he fought like a terrier down to the last." I do miss horses very much: they're incredible creatures in so many ways.  And the other day, one of the announcers said of trainer Kate Buckett "I don't know whether to call her Kate Buckett or Kate Bouquet" which made me laugh.  I think tomorrow we will watch some more and maybe even place a few wagers.   The last two photos are from the walk home as the sky debated about whether it should rain or not.  I think I even saw a few flakes of snow.   One of the houses I would love to live in has this for a view. This is a magical, lovely place...
