Week 2.4 Biking Achill Island to Westport

I've been trying to do these postings before going to sleep each night but after reading this, you may see why I'm doing it this morning.  Yesterday we hired bikes from a place that drove us out to Achill Island and then we biked back along the Greenway to Westport.  It was about 45k from start to finish and took us about 5 hours.  I will admit there was about half an hour when we were biking up hills with one wind trying to push us down while another wind tried to push us over that I wondered "how exactly is this fun?" but the scenery made up for that.  Biking along the Greenway got us into places we'd never see otherwise and we saw some spectacular sights.  Here are only a few of the pictures I took. It was hard to choose.  I really don't know how people in Ireland do anything but stand outside and sigh at the beauty that surrounds them.  This bike trip was one of the most amazing things we've done.  I wasn't sure my body would forgive me last night but it seems to have bounced back.  That said, I am spending today reading and drinking tea.  PS: these photos, unlike the others so far, are taken with the new digital camera not the iPhone.
