"Oh Canada" and "Oh What a Sad, Bad Little Canadian I Am."

Oh no. I was just sitting down to blog about how CBC has quantifiably exposed my failings as a Canadian when I read my brother's fabulous and inspiring editorial about Canada Day. I now feel even more pathetic about my Canadian-ness and wonder what the newly minted head of Canadian Studies will think of my confession. Well, here goes: apparently, I know more about Superman than I do about Canadian history.

Here's how it happened. It started out innocently enough. I decided to do the CBC Canadian History quiz late last night. Perhaps you know these quizzes. I do them often and do fairly well on them. Earlier in the week, I amazed myself with how much I actually knew about Christopher Walken even though he creeps me out. As you can imagine, I set out to do the Canadian History Quiz with a moderate amount of confidence. I am Canadian; I am a huge history fan; I nearly aced a quiz on Christopher Walken: how hard can this be?
Imagine my horror when I saw the results of my quiz. I cannot even type my score since it's so humiliating. But you're dying to know, aren't you? I'll give you a hint: it's the loneliest number that you'll ever do. Or, here's another hint: picture those big foam fingers you can get at ballparks. That's my score. The loneliest big foam finger of a number that you'll ever do.

I was a bit rattled to get that score so decided I'd try and reboost my confidence by doing the Superman Quiz. I got eight out of ten on that. Apparently, I know more about Superman than my own nation. If there's any hope of redeeming my brother's esteem, I think it's my Superman score. Or, maybe I'd best stick to Skeetersplat.

Ummmm... well, that was a pretty tricky quiz. I doubled your score. :(

Well, so far 2 people have reported that they too have taken the quiz and told me their results. We have one person getting zero and one person getting a whopping three. I said to the three person, "why don't you post your results in the comments section?" This person said, "I don't really want to brag." "About getting three out of ten?" "Yes." "Ok." Do we have a four? Anyone?
